SULTANAMARIA is a collection of artwork created by artist Sultana Aschim. She was born and raised in South Jersey, and left to pursue an art degree in North Carolina at East Carolina University. After two years she left North Carolina to transfer to a Fine Arts Program at Arcadia University, which is where she fell in love with metalsmithing. In December 2008 Aschim graduated from Arcadia University with a BFA in Metals and Jewelry.  As someone who was raised growing up at antique markets, it was very natural for Sultana to form her own business selling her metals work and immediately diving into the vending world. From vending in Brooklyn to doing shows in the Hamptons, Sultana felt it very easy to find unique independent craft shows and street festivals and form her own line of unique abstract jewelry that incorporates found objects and vintage pieces. A commercialized line of work was formed and she went onto vending at major music festivals.  Aschim loves music as much as art and went on the road vending at the largest music festivals in the United States, along with working with over 200 boutiques within the country. From Bonnaroo to Coachella, from Mysteryland to Electric Forest, she was able to vend at over 15 major music festivals and raise her son with a love and passion for traveling and music.  From the age of 15 she always hand drew sacred geometry designs that got more and more intricate as she got older. SULTANAMARIA is a collection of work consisting of original artwork and upcycled jewelry and decor created with hand picked items she’s found and objects she’s personally mined.  Living back in New Jersey raising her son, SULTANAMARIA focuses on creating unique items that compliment her love for the earth.
